A3 traffic recap after air ambulance lands on carriageway after …
Motorists through Surrey faced long delays after a "serious" crash closed the A3 this evenign. National Highways revealed the road was closed between the A244 near Esher and A309 near Long Ditton. Traffic monitoring company INRIX reported a lorry and a motorcycle have been involved in the crash.
There are however no details of any injuries released so far. The air ambulance is however said to have landed on the carriageway. And motorists were being turned around to ease the congestion.
The road has since reopened. A National Highways spokesman said at the time: "The A3 in Surrey is closed in both directions between the A244 near Esher and the A309 near Long Ditton due to a serious collision. Emergency services are in attendance."
Congestion is backing up to Esher Common on the northbound side. And back to just before Shannon Corner on the southbound side. This is an unfolding incident.
