‘Two separate accidents’ close lanes and cause heavy traffic on M25
An accident involving a car and a lorry on the M25 has left one lane closed with traffic building on Friday afternoon (March 31). The accident occurred on the M25 clockwise and lane one of four remains closed past the scene. Traffic is now queueing between Junction 26 near A121 Waltham Abbey, to Junction 27, M11, and Junction 6.
There is also congestion to Junction 25 near Enfield. Traffic update website INRIX said: “One lane closed and queueing traffic due to accident, a car and a lorry involved on M25[1] clockwise from J26 A121 (Waltham Abbey) to J27 M11 J6. Congestion to J25 (Enfield).
Lane one (of four) remains closed past the scene.” INRIX later said there were two separate accidents taking place along this stretch of road. An update reads: “M25 clockwise partially blocked, queueing traffic due to multiple accidents from J26 A121 (Waltham Abbey) to J27 M11 J6.
“Congestion to J25 (Enfield). After two separate accidents along this stretch, there are lane closures in place.” It is not clear at this time if there are any injuries as a result of the accident, and MyLondon[2] has contacted the emergency services for more information.
