M5 car and lorry crash brings 17-mile tailbacks and severe delays
Lanes have been closed following a multi-vehicle crash on the M5 which is bcausing ‘severe delays’ in Somerset today (March 31). Traffic monitoring organisation Inrix, which provides national traffic data, has confirmed the collision happened near Taunton shortly before 11.30am. Motorway cameras show long delays are now forming in the area.
Traffic monitor Inrix states: “Long delays, queueing traffic and two lanes closed due to accident and people slowing to look at accident on the opposite side on M5 Southbound before J25 A358 (Taunton). Travel time is 35 minutes. “Lanes one and two (of three) are now closed.”
