A303 crash causing delays in Somerset amid travel chaos

More delays are affecting drivers in Somerset following a crash on the A303 this afternoon. There are currently miles of tailbacks on the M5 after a lorry and car crashed on the southbound carriageway near Taunton this morning. Now delays are building on the A303, which is the main route out of South Somerset towards Wiltshire.

Traffic monitor Inrix states: "A303 Westbound partially blocked, delays due to accident between A371 (Wincanton) and South Cadbury turn off (Sparkford). Affecting traffic towards Sparkford." This is a live blog and we will bring you more information as we get it.
