Bicyclist killed after being hit by USPS truck

A bicyclist was hit by a USPS truck that was pulling out of a postal facility around 6:45 p.m. on Friday. The accident happened at the postal facility located at 608 N Saddlecreek. According to the Omaha Police Department, citizens and the truck driver performed CPR on the bicyclist until paramedics arrived and transported him to Nebraska Medicine, where he was declared dead shortly after arriving there.
The bicyclist has been identified as 46-year-old Gregory T. Whitedress of Omaha. The driver of the postal truck has been identified as 57-year-old Arnett A. Barnes of Omaha.
The crash is being investigated by the OPD Traffic Unit.
