Kafé Kumho Truckstop Review: Truckhaven
Constructed in 1990, Truckhaven is a privately owned truck stop, conveniently located half a mile from Junction 35 of the M6.The site can accommodate up to 230 trucks in its large tarmac/gravelled parking area. As well as being gated, fenced and floodlit, the parking area is covered by CCTV and staffed by a security team on patrol 7 days a week. There is also a designated fridge and trailer swap area.
The security team are on hand on arrival to ensure trucks are parked safely and have access to leave when required. At the entrance/exit to the truck stop is the fuel forecourt, offering high-speed fuel and Ad-Blue pumps. All major credit cards are accepted, along with Keyfuels and UK Fuels.
The high canopy (16'6") ensures that even the largest vehicles can gain access. Next to the forecourt is a convenience shop stocked with a comprehensive range of items. Within the main building, there is a manned reception area staffed by friendly staff who are available to help with bookings and any queries you have.
Showers, washroom and toilet facilities are easily accessible from the main entrance and are clean and well equipped. Next to the reception is a large, well-stocked shop that sells not only everyday essentials but also a range of trucking accessories, food, drinks and even gifts. A full laundry service is available on site, ideal for those who may be away from home for extended periods.
There is a spacious, air-conditioned restaurant area with plenty of dining space. They offer an extensive range of food options, all produced on site and at an affordable price. For those who wish to take a break from the cab and relax, there is a separate bar area open from 4pm to 11pm, Monday to Saturday.
The space benefits from comfortable seating and a large-screen TV, which is ideal for watching sports. Free darts and pool are also available. Outside, there is a seating area, ideal for an evening drink when the weather permits.
This makes it a great place to socialise or simply get that home-from-home feel. The site also has 25 en-suite rooms available, with a mix of twin and double rooms. Each is equipped with a TV and tea and coffee-making facilities to ensure a comfortable and stress-free stay.
If that wasn't enough, the site is also home to a spacious Conference Room. Fully air-conditioned with high-speed Wi-Fi, the space can accommodate up to 150 delegates. It is a well-designed space for meetings, training days or conferences.
Once a month, the site is used to provide Driver Medicals, a convenient option for those who are local or just passing by and need to keep their licence up to date.
Truckhaven certainly offers everything drivers could need whilst on the road and away from home.
