Authorities investigating shooting in Freeport, one reported dead

WALTON COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Officials with the Walton County Sheriff's Office say they are investigating a shooting on Piney Point Road in Freeport following a 911 call Saturday night.

WCSO have confirmed that one person is dead. They say all parties involved are on the scene and are cooperating with investigators. They have confirmed that the parties are known to each other.

Officials say the incident appears to be isolated, and there is no indication there is any threat to the public.

WCSO is asking for patience as they continue their investigation.
