DX Group acquires Northern Ireland-based Express Freight
DX Group, a UK delivery solutions provider, has announced the acquisition of Express Freight, a family-run logistics company based in Craigavon, Northern Ireland.
You can read this article in 2 minutesExpress Freight operates from a purpose-built depot in Moyraverty, 25 miles from Belfast city centre, with convenient access to the Dublin-Belfast motorway. The company, which has been trading for over 50 years, runs 54 daily delivery routes and employs more than 115 staff. Its facilities include 17,500 square feet of raised warehouse space, 38 loading bays, a 10,000-square-foot drive-through canopy, and additional office and storage areas.
The acquisition supports the expansion of DX Group's Freight division, which specialises in the delivery of irregular dimension and weight (IDW) items. DX stated that Express Freight's management team will remain in place to ensure a seamless integration into its network and to maintain service quality for existing customers. Paul Ibbetson, CEO of DX Group, described the acquisition as a strategic move under DX's new ownership by H.I.G.
Capital.
"Integrating Express Freight within the DX Group will generate significant growth opportunities, whilst expanding the presence of the DX brand in both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland," he stated.

DX Group indicated its intention to pursue further acquisitions as part of its growth strategy, aiming to consolidate the fragmented logistics market and explore opportunities in integrated logistics and new end markets.
