Trio acts on EuroGroup’s USD22m electric motor parts buy

Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co[1] and OP Khaitan & Co have advised on Italian company EuroGroup Laminations’ acquisition of a 40% stake in India’s Kumar Precision Stampings for EUR19.9 million (USD22.25 million). Partners Abhishek Guha and Tanya Uppal led the transaction team advising EuroGroup, with support from senior associates Kajal Advani and Reeya Benedict. The due diligence team included partners Guha, Uppal, Radhika Dudhat and Mukul Baveja.

OP Khaitan advised Kumar Precision Stampings on Indian law, while Freshfields counselled on international legal matters. Mediobanca and PricewaterhouseCoopers advised EuroGroup on investment banking and tax issues, respectively. EuroGroup, based in Milan, makes stators and rotors, two key components of electric motors and generators, and supplies manufacturers in the automotive and wider industrial sectors.

Kumar Precision also produces stators and rotors.
