Safe & Legal Operation with Transport Manager Conferences
Run a Safe and Legal Operation with the Help of Logistics UK’s Transport Manager Conferences Logistics UK’s series of Transport Manager conferences returns this autumn with ten events taking place across the country providing transport operators with the latest compliance and legislation information. Now in its 24th year, the conferences are the industry’s leading events providing operators with the latest compliance information, guidance on legislation and practical advice on other issues they face.
Last year’s events attracted a record number of over 1,800 delegates and indications are that this year’s programme will be just as popular. As a legal requirement of their roles, transport managers are responsible for the safe and effective operation of their fleets. A key part of this is keeping up to date with all the latest legislative and operational changes to stay compliant with the various rules and regulations. But with so many rules to keep abreast of, this can be a difficult task, alongside day-to-day responsibilities.
That is where Logistics UK’s Transport Manager 2024 series, sponsored by Brigade Electronics, can help, providing all the necessary information to keep transport managers fully informed on legislation updates – and the great news is that this year’s series of events kicks off in just over two months’ time. Launching at Haynes Motor Museum in Yeovil on 18 September, and moving on to venues around the country, the conferences will give attendees the chance to hear direct from expert speakers including senior industry figures and policy makers – such as the local Traffic Commissioner – on wide-ranging topics affecting the role of the transport manager in 2024 and beyond. There is also the possibility of attending a virtual conference in November should delegates not be able to attend in person.
Transport Manager is also a recognised Continuing Professional Development (CPD) event, and attendees will receive a certificate evidencing their attendance. CPD is a term used to describe the learning activities professionals engage in to develop, enhance and maintain their abilities. In a packed one-day schedule, as well as a compliance update and Transport Manager calendar, this year’s programme will include:
- The local Traffic Commissioner on their priorities for the year ahead.
- Brigade Electronics on GSR and ADAS systems.
- The legal responsibilities of a transport manager in 2024, by Weightmans.
- Revision of the Transport Manager CPC syllabus.
- Transport managers in a connected and autonomous world.
- Driver focus: finding and keeping the best! by Road Safety Smart.
- Dealing with fatal incidents and collision investigation – a session by the Metropolitan Police.
Advisors from Logistics UK’s Member Advice Centre will also be on hand throughout the day to advise on legislation and compliance issues.
Kevin Green, Logistics UK’s Director of Policy and Communications, said: “We are looking forward to welcoming delegates from around the country to the 2024 Transport Manager conferences. We have assembled another diverse and vital programme of updates that covers the key issues facing operators around the country and we are confident that delegates will leave with the information they need to keep their operation safe and legal. The events are also a great chance to network with their peers and make new contacts.” Transport Manager will be touring the UK from September to December 2024.
