Freeport issues temporary boil order on city’s west side

FREEPORT, Ill. (WIFR) – Some people living on Freeport’s west side will be under a temporary boil order as crews work on the Adams Avenue construction project, the city’s Water and Sewer Department announced July 10.

The city says it will begin shutting off water around 8 a.m. Thursday, July 11. The boil order is expected to be in place for about 24 to 48 hours after water service is restored.

The following areas will be impacted:

  • E. Fir Street
  • S. Chippewa Avenue
  • E.

    Clinton Street

  • Clinton Pl.
  • E. Empire Street
  • S. Armstrong Avenue

Last week,[1] a boil order was put in place as the city dealt with two water mains break.
