Peterbilt highlights all-electric and natural gas engine collection trucks at WasteExpo 2024

Peterbilt[1] will exhibit its vehicle lineup for the refuse industry, including all-electric and natural gas engine-equipped models during WasteExpo2024. The Peterbilt trucks on display are:

  • Model 520 with Heil front end loader body with Cummins ISX12N natural gas engine
  • Model 520 with New Way automated side loader body with Cummins L9N natural gas engine
  • Model 520 with Labrie automated side loader body with PACCAR MX-11 engine
  • Model 567 with Galbreath roll-off body with Cummins ISX12N natural gas engine
  • Model 520EV with McNeilus automated side loader body with Accelera 14Xe ePowertrain

The Model 520 is Peterbilt’s low-cab-forward refuse workhorse, featuring easy body builder integration and a seven-inch digital display in the instrument cluster. The Model 567 features a large windshield and cab-mounted mirrors for greater visibility.

It includes a 15-inch configurable digital display that delivers truck systems information, including collision mitigation alerts and tire pressure monitoring. The Model 520EV provides a zero-emissions solution for commercial and residential refuse applications, handling up to 1,100 trash bins on a single charge. The Model 520EV takes advantage of frequent starts and stops typically with refuse applications to transfer energy back to its battery packs through regenerative braking.

“The versatile product lineup at WasteExpo highlights Peterbilt’s commitment to the refuse industry with clean, efficient, and dependable vehicle technologies that are tailored to the unique needs of our customers,” said Jake Montero, Peterbilt assistant general manager of sales and marketing.
