Long M6 delays around Spaghetti Junction after lorry crash

Motorists are facing long delays on the M6 today after a lorry crash. Drivers could be stuck in traffic for 45 minutes around Spaghetti Junction.

A collision involving a heavy goods vehicle happened at junction six of the southbound carriageway, at around 10.30am, today, Thursday, January 11. Emergency services were sent to the scene.

Traffic data monitoring service Inrix said: "M6 Southbound closed long delays, queueing traffic due to accident, a lorry involved from J6 A38 Tyburn Road (Spaghetti Junction) to J5 A452 (Castle Bromwich). Congestion to J7 (Great Barr). Trapped traffic is currently being let past the scene."

Taking to X, formerly Twitter, National Highways West Midlands posted: "Traffic is currently stopped on the #M6 southbound between J6 #A38M and J5 near #CastleBromwich due to a collision involving a Heavy Goods vehicle. Emergency services are in attendance."

It added: "Traffic remains stopped on the #M6 southbound between J6 #A38M and J5 near #CastleBromwich due to a collision involving a Heavy Goods vehicle. Emergency services continue to work at scene. There are currently delays of 45 mins."
