Live updates on Avonmouth crash as overturned lorry causes roundabout chaos

A lorry has crashed and overturned on a busy roundabout in Avonmouth^[1] this evening. St Brendan's Roundabout is partially closed as a result and recovery work is expected to take several hours.

Part of the A4 Crowley Way is closed according to Google and there is very slow traffic^[2] on Bristow Broadway on the approach to the roundabout. Drivers are being advised by police to avoid the area. The road is expected to be closed until 10pm, according to Google.

Avon and Somerset Police said at 5.37pm: "Officers are at the scene of an overturned lorry on St Brendan's Roundabout in Avonmouth. The road has been reduced to one lane while work to recover the vehicle continues. This is expected to remain the case for at least two hours. Please avoid the area if possible."
