Another Gainsborough home boarded up by police over anti-social behaviour

Another Lincolnshire property has been forcefully closed over anti-social behaviour off the back of a police raid. The house in Trinity Street in Gainsborough[1] was issued with a closure order notice by Lincolnshire Police[2] following "repeated incidents", the force said.

It will be in place until 11.59pm on March 17 and prevents anyone from remaining at or entering the property under the threat of a 51-week prison sentence, a fine, or both. A spokesperson for the force said the closure will "protect the community from being victims of anti-social behaviour and related crime".

It was deemed a necessary move to prevent "serious nuisance" or disorder after it was found that people had engaged, or were likely to engage, in such behaviour.

The closure order was granted on December 18. It is the second property in Gainsborough to be closed following warrants that were executed as part of Operation Stronghold.

A home in King Street received a similar order in December and will be closed until March 12 after it was reported that the tenants made their neighbours feel like "prisoners in their own homes"[4]. Residents living nearby at the time said they weren't intimidated by the sight of police and approved of them "doing their job".
