2-CAR CRASH CAUSES DELAYS IN NEWPORT TOWN CENTRE

A 2-vehicle crash in the centre of Newport is causing traffic delays this afternoon (Tuesday).

The incident has occurred on the junction with Lugley Street and St James’ Street.

Island Echo understands that emergency service personnel were called to the scene at around 16:20.

The incident has seen a Fiat Panda and Ford Fiesta collide with one another

Southern Vectis Route 1 buses were diverting for a short time but have since been able to use the route once again.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area.

UPDATE @ 18:15 – The incident has been cleared with both the involved vehicles recovered by local recovery agent Bartletts.
