Two lorries crash as Brum Airport junction drivers face long delays

Two lorries have collided, causing long delays this afternoon for drivers and holiday-makers. The crash on the M42 northbound has closed lanes and seen 999 crews rush to the scene.

The incident happened on the M42 northbound between J6 and J7. J6 serves Birmingham Airport, and drivers have faced severe delays this afternoon, Friday, December 1 as officials clear up the scene.

National Highways West Midlands bosses warned motorists to expect major delays. Things have improved since the collision first occurred, but travel website Inrix says motorists are still facing delays.

Solihull drivers are among those facing delays as traffic jams clog up a number of junctions.
