Lozells police probe as car involved in crash with three pedestrians

Police are investigating after a car was involved in a collision with three pedestrians in Lozells on Friday. Emergency services descended on the scene in Heathfield Road[1] shortly before 6pm yesterday, December 1.

The incident sparked travel disruption near the road, with NX West Midlands posting on X, formerly Twitter, last night: "Due to a police incident, 52 From City will be diverting from Wheelers street via: right onto Lozells Road and Birchfield Road.

"Apologies for any inconvenience caused". Traffic monitoring service Inrix also reported congestion in the area due to the incident as well as the bus diversion, which is no longer in place.

West Midlands Police[3] confirmed on Saturday morning that the incident was a collision that involved three pedestrians. A police spokesperson said: "We were called to Heathfield Road, Lozells, just before 6pm yesterday (December 1) after a collision involving a car and three pedestrians.

The driver was spoken to at the scene and investigations continue".

West Midlands Ambulance Service[4] has been contacted for further details about the incident and whether any of the pedestrians were seriously injured.
