As the second anniversary of the tragedy approaches Donatas Timinskas (34) from Main Street, Belmayne in Dublin is charged with causing the deaths and grievous bodily harm by dangerous driving.

It is further alleged he drove without due care and attention, at excess speed and with a defective braking system.

A police officer aware of the facts of the case told Omagh Magistrates Court on Tuesday the charges could be connected.

No further details surrounding the circumstances of the incident were disclosed during the short hearing, where Timinskas spoke only to confirm his identity and understood the charges against him.

District Judge Peter Magill said given the nature of the charges the case will be proceeding to crown court in due course.

He remanded Timinskas on continuing bail to return to court on 9 January.
