Electric motors company open ?30m state-of-art facility
Parvalux new building, found on Technology[1] Road, Poole, was unveiled on December 6 in front of several VIP guests including BCP Council Liberal Democrats leader Vikki Slade and Mayor of Poole.
The new home of Parvalux Electric Motors, part of the Maxon group, is said to redefine industry standards and environmental responsibility.
Cllr Slade said: "To have such a high-quality advanced manufacturing and engineering business in our local community with such long and illustrious heritage at the vanguard of industry and with such good environmental credentials is wonderful."
The building, which costed 30 million pounds, was opened by Chairman of the company's Board of Directors, Dr Karl-Walter Braun.
This was followed by a tour of the building, offering a first-hand glimpse of the process behind gearbox and electric motor manufacturing.
Stephen Phipson, CEO of Make UK, said: "“I was delighted to see such a marvellous facility which will clearly bring huge benefits to operational processes and is at the cutting edge of energy efficiency in particular.
“It’s also very refreshing to see the care taken to ensure that the working environment is as welcoming for staff as possible and the innovative measures Parvalux is implementing to aid this.”
The building is said to have taken large steps towards sustainability with more than 1,500 solar panels. The company has suggested this will reduce CO2 emissions by over 343,000 kilograms annually.
The event ended with staff and guests receiving commemorative coins, a token of appreciation for their contributions and support in making Parvalux House a reality.
Parvalux employs close to 200 people in the area and the site is said to help facilitate the company's growth, with hope to double in size by 2030.
