The crash occurred at approximately 3.46pm on the afternoon of Wednesday, December 27, during a period of poor driving conditions due to weather.

Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said two crews from Salisbury and one from Wilton have arrived at the scene.

The crash has caused considerable delays on the A36 between the areas of Windwhistle Lane and the junction with the A27 and people have been advised to avoid the area.

A statement from Wiltshire Police on Facebook said: “Closures are in place on the A36 junction with the A27 and the Whaddon junction. Closures are also in place at Windwhistle Lane connecting to West Grimstead.

“Please seek alternative routes and expect delays in the area.”
