It happened on the A15 near to Barnetby Top and involved a car and a lorry just after 9am this morning (5th December).
The collision led to a lorry overturning.
Emergency services attended but a man died a short while after.
Three women are believed to have suffered minor injuries.
A section of the road is still closed in both directions (as of 6.15pm 5th December) with Police are asking drivers to avoid the area between Barnetby Top and Bonby
