UPDATE: Elderly pedestrian seriously injured in Marlow town centre …
Update - 5.40pm:
An elderly pedestrian has been hospitalised after being hit by a lorry driver in a collision in Marlow town centre this afternoon.
Emergency services were called to West Street following reports that a woman in her 90s had suffered serious injuries.
A spokesman for the South Central Ambulance Service said the pedestrian received treatment at the scene and was then taken to Oxford’s John Radcliffe Hospital.
A statement said: “The patient was a female pedestrian in her 90s who sustained serious injuries following a collision with a lorry.
“We sent an ambulance, a rapid response vehicle and the Thames Valley Air Ambulance critical care response vehicle to the scene.
“After initial treatment at the scene she was then taken by road to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.”
Thames Valley Police has confirmed West Street has reopened after being closed throughout the afternoon.
Thames Valley Police has warned people to avoid Marlow town centre while emergency services respond to a serious crash.
West Street is currently closed at the junction of High Street and Market Square.
The closure is likely to remain in place for up to three hours, police added.
