Translink’s annual Stuff a Bus campaign launched just over a week ago, with the aim to raise at least 25,000 meals, and already the positive response and generosity from the public has been fantastic.

Your donations can make a massive difference, helping ensure no-one goes hungry this Christmas[1]. Food items will go directly to those who need it most, including families, homeless shelters, school children, Women’s Aid hostels, food banks and community groups for the elderly.

Now more than ever we need your help to provide essential items for those in need this Christmas. Your generosity can go a long way, especially at a time when so many families and individuals are struggling across Northern Ireland.

Fareshare have provided a list of the most needed items to make it easier for those who wish to donate:

  • Tea Bags, Instant Coffee, Sugar, Hot Chocolate
  • Tinned Fish and Meats
  • Breakfast Cereal
  • Cooking Sauces
  • Traditional Christmas food such as: Mince pies, Stuffing,Cranberry Sauce, gravy, non- alcoholic drinks, selection boxes, sweets, Puddings, and drinks.
  • Tinned goods such as: veg, meat, fish, soup, baked beans, fruit, and puddings.
  • Dried and Tinned Pulses
  • UHT Formula 6 months plus
  • Long Life Fruit Juice
  • Soft Drinks
  • Jams/Spreads
  • Cooking Oil
  • Chocolate/Treat Items/Tubs of chocolate
  • Shortbread/biscuits
  • Condiments such as mustard, ketchup.
  • Instant Mash
  • Dried Pasta, Rice, and Noddles
  • Pasta sauces (tomato sauce, curry, pesto.
  • Baby Items: food, nappies, wipes.
  • Toiletries: Shower gel, shampoo, toilet paper, shaving gel, tampons, sanitary products.
