Man dies after crash involving lorry and two cars on busy Cambs road

A man has died following a crash on a Cambridgeshire road this morning (November 17). The 20-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene on the A428.

Police received reports of the collision between a lorry and two cars at 6.40am on the A428 between St Neots and Eltisley. Officers and paramedics attended.

The driver of one of the cars, a 20-year-old man, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. The road is likely to remain closed for some time while recovery takes place.

Detective Constable Fay Millen said: "A man has tragically lost his life in this collision and my thoughts are with his family and friends at this very difficult time. I am appealing to anyone who may have seen the collision, or either vehicle prior to it, to please get in touch."

An East of England Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 6.39am with reports of a road traffic collision involving a lorry and two cars on the A428 at Croxton. Two ambulances, a rapid response vehicle, an ambulance officer vehicle, four vehicles from the Hazardous Area Response Team and a response car from the Magpas Air Ambulance were sent to the scene.

"Sadly, the driver of one of the cars, an adult male, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the lorry was transported to Hinchingbrooke Hospital for treatment for minor injuries.”

A force spokesperson said: "Anyone with information or dashcam footage should report it through the force website using reference: CC-17112023-0058. Anyone without internet access should call 101."
