Helen Flanagan breaks down in tears and says ‘why am I such a mess’

Helen Flanagan has broken down in tears and sobbed to fans in her car - as she bemoaned her life as a struggling single parent. The 33-year-old ITV[1] Coronation Street[2] shares three children, Matilda, Delilah and Charlie, with ex Scott Sinclair.

In an Instagram video on Tuesday, she broke down in tears and asked: "Why am I such a mess?" The question came days after Helen, 33, was embroiled in a scary accident on the road when she crashed her flash Audi with the kids inside.

“This isn’t normal. I’ve broke down in my courtesy car,” she said today. “Why am I just a mess?” she added in text on the video. She also added Shirley Bassey’s Goldfinger to a separate post and wrote: “I was like ‘I’m an AA Gold member, come get me please.’”

Helen revealed she had crashed her car this weekend. The soap star, who shot to fame in Coronation Street before two stints in I'm A Celebrity[4], said: "I crashed my car. The kids were fine. I was fine … but I was pumpkin picking and all I did was reverse into a piece of wood because I can’t park or reverse park to save my life.

“I just thought I’d scratched my car because it didn’t even make a noise, but I’ve taken the whole of my bonnet off. Wow... and my car’s new.” Helen went on: “I get my kids back today, so I’m excited about that. They’ve been away for half term."

“I do really miss them when they’re away. It always feels really weird,” she added. Helen and ex Scott Sinclair, the former Chelsea, Manchester City, Aston Villa, Celtic, Swansea City and West Bromwich Albion star, who now plays in Bristol for Bristol Rovers, called time on their decade-long romance last October.
