Tragedy as man, 35, dies after collision with lorry on A180

A man has tragically died following a collision between a lorry and a pedestrian on the A180.

Humberside Police[1] were called to reports of a crash at 2.30am today (October 23), on the A180[2] near Immingham[3], near to the Stallingborough[4] interchange. Emergency services[5] closed the roads in both directions whilst enquiries were carried out before the westbound carriageway was reopened shortly after midday.

Tragically, a 35-year-old man died at the scene as a result of his injuries. His family have been informed and are being cared for by specially-trained officers.

Humberside Fire and Rescue[6] were also in attendance to provide a dignity screen while Humberside Fire and Rescue carried out their investigation. It said: "Request from Police for Fire Service to provide screening at Police incident. Dignity screen provided and incident left in care of Police."

Humberside Police added: "Officers are appealing for information after a man sustained fatal injuries in a collision on the A180, Immingham, near to the junction at Stallingborough, in the early hours of this morning (Monday 23 October).

"We were called at around 2.30am to reports that a lorry and pedestrian were involved in a collision. Emergency services attended however a 35-year-old man sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene.

"His family have been informed and are being supported by specialist trained officers. We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision, has any information or dashcam footage, or saw the vehicle prior to the collision, to please contact us on our non-emergency number 101 quoting log 32 of 23 October."
