Lorry driver fails to stop at scene of RTC as pedestrian seriously …

Merseyside Police has confirmed that emergency services are in attendance following a collision this morning (Wednesday 25 October) where a white lorry being driven on West Derby Road failed to stop after the incident.

At around 9.25am, police received a report of a collision involving a white lorry and a pedestrian near Orphan Drive on West Derby Road.

The male pedestrian suffered serious injuries and has been taken to hospital for further treatment.

The driver of the white lorry, which was reported to have two trailers at the back, didn’t stop at the scene and enquiries are ongoing to locate him and the vehicle.

West Derby Road is currently closed whilst officers continue their enquiries and motorists are advised to avoid the area.

Chief Inspector David Currie said, “To leave the scene of any collision is a serious crime, and we’re keen to trace the man and the lorry he was driving to assist our enquiries.

“We are appealing to anyone who saw this collision on Derby Road at around 9.25am this morning or has any dashcam footage from their vehicle to please contact us as a matter of urgency.

“If you were driving in the area and saw or captured the incident, please check your systems and send this to us so we can take action.”
