Government announces details on timeline for A10 and Ely Junction …

Details have been announced by the Government for major transport upgrades in Cambridgeshire[1]. It comes after Prime Minister Rishi Sunak confirmed that a stretch of high-speed railway between Birmingham and Manchester would no longer go ahead.

The Ely[2] and Haughley Junctions, as well as the A10 upgrades, are among a number of transport projects that have been green-lit following the cancellation of HS2. Both are part of £9.6 billion being spent in the East of England.

No specific timeline has been given on when the works are due to start. However, Cambridgeshire County Council[3] say work on the A10 is likely to begin in 2026 and be completed by 2030.
