Driver injured in A38 Bassetts Pole layby road rage incident after …

A driver suffered injuries and had to be taken to hospital after a road rage incident near Sutton Coldfield[1]. The incident took place in a lay-by on the A38 at Bassetts Pole north of Sutton last Thursday, October 19 shortly after 5.30am.

The two cars – a black Audi A4 and a black Vauxhall Insignia were involved in a collision. Then the two drivers were involved in a fight. A man in his 20s suffered ‘minor facial injuries’ which were looked at, at hospital.

Now Staffordshire Police[2] is appealing for witnesses to the incident to come forward. In particular they would like anyone with any dashcam footage to share it.

A spokesman for the force said: “We are appealing for information following a road rage incident in a lay-by near Lichfield[5]. We were called to the A38 in Bassetts Pole, just after 5.30am on Thursday (October 19) following a collision between a black Audi A4 and a black Vauxhall Insignia.

“Shortly after, both drivers were involved in a physical altercation with each other. A man, in his 20s, suffered minor facial injuries and went to hospital for precautionary checks.

“We are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time to find out more about what happened, in particular those who might have dashcam footage that could help us.
