Buses of Somerset warns of ‘disruptions’ during Taunton Carnival

On Saturday, October 21, there will be a number of service disruptions due to Taunton Carnival taking place from 6pm, Buses of Somerset said.

Here are some information from the company on how the services will be affected on the day as published by FirstBus on its website:

Service 1:

The 18:15 service will start & terminate at County Hall and divert via Wellington[4] Road, Silk Mills Road, Bindon Road, Trenchard Way and then resume its normal line of route at the Railway Station.

The inbound route will be the same as the above in reverse.

Service 2:

The last inbound service will terminate at Taunton Rail Station (arrive 18:07).

Service 6:

The 18:33 service will start at Bedford House (opposite County Hall) and divert via The Crescent, Upper High Street, Alma Street, South Street and Wordsworth Drive and resume its normal line of route at the YMCA.

Service PR1:

The 17:55 service from Silk Mills, will serve Bedford House instead of Corporation Street. From there, it will divert via The Crescent, Upper High Street, South Road, Chestnut Drive and Lisieux Way and resume its normal line of route at Hamilton Road.

Service 21:

Outbound services after Castle Way will divert via The Crescent, Upper High Street, Chestnut Drive and Lisieux Way and then resume their normal line of route at Hamilton Road.

The inbound route will be the same as the above in reverse.

Service 25:

The last service inbound (16:55 from Dulverton) will terminate at Taunton Rail Station (arrive 18:16).

Service 28:

Outbound services after Castle Way will divert via Wellington Road, Silk Mills Road, Bindon Road, and Trenchard Way and resume their normal line of route at Taunton Rail Station.

Inbound services will follow same route above in reverse EXCEPT The 17:15 departure from Minehead[5] which will terminate at Taunton Rail Station (arrive 18:40).

Service 29:

Inbound service at 17:13 from Street will divert from Blackbrook Way to Chestnut Drive, South Road and Upper High Street and terminate at County Hall.

Service 30:

The 18:10, 20:10, and 22:10 departures will start & terminate at Bedford House (opposite County Hall). They will then divert via The Crescent, Upper High Street, South Road and Chestnut Drive.

The inbound route will be the same as the above in reverse.

Service 54:

The 18:15 departure will start & terminate at County Hall and divert via Upper High Street, South Road, Chestnut Drive and Lisieux Way.

The inbound route will be the same as the above in reverse.

Service 1E:

The 19:00, 20:00, 2100, 22:00, and 23:05 will start and terminate at County Hall.

Outbound services will serve Musgrove Park Hospital and Silk Mills Park and Ride, then divert via Bindon Road and Trenchard Way.

They will then resume their normal line of route at the Railway Station. Continuer round to Wellsprings and Ladymead Road.

On return towards town, buses will divert via Trenchard Way and Bindon Road to then serve Silk Mills Park and Ride and Musgrove Park Hospital.

The 19:35, 20:35, 21:35 and 22:35 departures towards Silk Mills from The Parade will be incorporated into the diversion above.
