Beloved town’s barbers that shut after 36 years opens new shop …

A town's barbers that had shut its doors to customers after 36 years operating has now opened a new shop just down the road. Buddies Barbers in Jaywick has announced they will be starting trading at The Sunspot Centre on October 5 after celebrating their grand opening.

In a Facebook post published on Monday (October 3), they wrote: "Hi everyone this is Maria from Thursday 5th October you will be able to find me at the new Sunspot barbers in Jaywick and Sue will be working at solutions salon as of Thursday!!!

"This Facebook page will be dedicated in a few days so if anybody would like to add me on my new page it’s Buddies Barbers at the Sunspot!!!! Would be good to see you all there and I’m sure sue will follow on here with here new details very soon!!"

The beloved hairdressers held a grand opening on September 23. This comes after the closure of the shop on Station Road in August, which ran for 36 years.

However, they have been operating at the back function room of the Never Say Die Pub, Broadway, while they waited for the new location. The Sunspot Centre has been a hot topic in Jaywick being part of a regeneration plans for the coastal village.

The £5.3million project has 24 commercial units with a mixture of retail and office space. MP Dehenna Davison cut the ribbon at the multi-million centre, on the corner of Brooklands and Loftus Way, last month to mark its opening.
