Air ambulance lands on playing field as emergency services …

An air ambulance and three ambulances were called to an incident this morning. It happened near the the Nine Acres playing field, located by Westminster Drive in Wrexham.

People took to social media to report they had seen multiple ambulances heading to the scene and the air ambulance landing on the field. The Welsh Ambulance Service[1] has confirmed it was a "medical emergency".

A spokesperson for the ambulance service said: "We were called today, at approximately 8:25am, to reports of a medical emergency near Nine Acres field, Wrexham[2]. We sent three emergency ambulances and one air ambulance to the scene where we were assisted by colleagues from the Emergency Medical Retrieval and Transfer Service who travelled by air.”

There were no further details on the incident.
