A429 closed in Gloucestershire by crash which results in arrest

A man has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving following a crash which has left a major Gloucestershire road closed for hours. Emergency services were called to the A429 in Cirencester[1] just off the roundabout with the A419 at 3am today (October 1) following reports of a crash involving two vehicles near the Royal Agricultural University.

A woman in one of the vehicles was taken to hospital[2] for treatment. Her injuries are not believed to be serious. A man has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving and has been released under investigation[3] pending further enquiries. The road remains closed but it is hoped it will re-open in the next hour.
