Shropshire: Man taken to Princess Royal Hospital after crash on …

The man was treated at the scene for injuries not believed to be serious, before being taken to the Princess Royal Hospital in Telford.

It followed an accident on the B5065 Sandford Bends in Prees at around 2.50pm which led to the road being closed while emergency services attended.

A spokesperson from West Midlands Ambulance Service (WMAS) confirmed an ambulance and a paramedic officer went to the scene.

They added: "The driver of the car, a man, was treated by ambulance staff for injuries not believed to the serious before being taken to Princess Royal Hospital in Telford for further treatment.

"The drivers of the van and the lorry were not injured."

The incident involved a car, a van and a lorry and Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) was also in attendance.

The confirmed that a fire crew from Prees and they used Environment Agency equipment and small gear to deal with the incident.

A spokesperson from SFRS added: “The collision involved one car, one small van and one light goods vehicle.

“No persons were trapped, and the crew made the vehicles electrically safe and used an environmental grab pack for oil leaking onto the carriageway.”

West Mercia Police confirmed the road had reopened just after 7pm.
