Road closed after crash as man cut free from vehicle by firefighters

A elderly man was 'extracted' by fire crews from his car after a crash this evening. A road was closed in both directions to allow emergency services to work at the scene in Halesowen[1].

West Midlands Fire Service[2] were called to High Park Road at about 6pm today, Monday, September 25. The service told BirminghamLive they responded to reports that a car had crashed on the road.

The man was freed using cutting equipment as crews removed the roof from his vehicle. Paramedics were also called to the scene to check the patient. It is not clear if he was taken to hospital. The road later reopened.
