Police and paramedics called to A500 crash

Police and paramedics[1] were called to a smash on the D-road last night. Witnesses say part of the stretch - between Hanford and Stoke[2] - was closed as a result of the crash.

Staffordshire Police[3] were called to the scene at around 7.45pm. Officers found a crash between an Audi car and a HGV.

A woman in her 30s was treated at the scene for 'minor injuries'. The force sayS the route was fully back open a short time later.

It came on a day when emergency services responded to a number of incidents on the area's dual-carriageways. As reported by StokeonTrentLive[4] the eastbound stretch of the A50 near Blythe Bridge[5] had to be shut following a crash between a recovery truck and a car.

Meanwhile a lane was shut on the A500 around Talke after reports a lorry had hit a bridge. Today part of the D-road near Porthill was blocked following a crash between two lorries.[6][7]
