Edinburgh rail passengers face disruption as bus replacement …

Edinburgh rail travellers[1] have been warned to expect severe disruption this weekend as bus replacement services have had to be arranged in the south east of Scotland and north east of England.

National Rail have said that engineering works are being carried out in the region from September 30 until October 1.

CrossCountry, LNER, Lumo, Northern, ScotRail and TransPennine Express services will be impacted by the disruption.

Engineering works taking place between Newcastle and Edinburgh[4] via Morpeth, have meant that all lines are closed along this route.

As a result, CrossCountry have said that their train services will run on a diversionary route between Newcastle and Edinburgh and that rail replacement buses will run between Newcastle and Edinburgh.
