Translink Announce Bus and Rail Specials as well as Late night …

Translink has announced a series of bus and rail specials for fans travelling to The Killers concert at Boucher Road, Belfast this Friday, 1st September.

Customers can travel on any scheduled rail service for their outward journey to Balmoral Train Station, with rail shuttle specials operating from Balmoral Train Station between 22:45 and 23:45 to Belfast Great Victoria Street for return journeys.

Onward rail travel from Belfast Great Victoria Street (GVS) is available to Carrickfergus, Larne, Bangor, Coleraine, with last departure at approximately midnight. Customers must ensure to change at GVS for their onward service and are advised to leave sufficient time to transfer between Balmoral and GVS on shuttle services.

Fans travelling from Derry~Londonderry can avail of a bus special from Foyle Street Bus Centre, departing at 13:00, with stops at Drumahoe Park & Ride, Claudy Park & Ride, Dungiven. Maghera and Toombridge. A return will depart Boucher Road, Belfast at 23:30. Customers must arrive back to the coach a minimum of 15 minutes prior to departure.

Meanwhile an enhanced Metro 9B service will be in place for customers travelling to and from Balmoral, picking up at Donegall Square East and Great Northern Mall (Great Victoria Street), Belfast from 1600-1930 and returning between 22.50 – 23.46 at a 4-munute frequency.

In addition to these services, Translink will operate late-night Metro services in the Belfast area with departures at midnight.

Commenting on the range of enhanced services, Ian Campbell, Director of Service Operations at Translink, said,

“We wanted to make it as easy as possible for fans to travel to major events like The Killers using public transport, to avoid traffic, parking and the hassle associated with driving to events and to help keep everyone better connected. In addition to bus and rail specials for those travelling from further afield we have also put a number of late-night services in place to help get everyone home safely.”

Customers can only purchase tickets for the Foyle Street from www.translink.co.uk/events[1]. Rail tickets can be bought online or at departure stations. Details of all enhanced and late services can also be found online or on the Translink Journey Planner app.

A strict no smoking and no alcohol policy operates on all Translink services.
