Teenage run over with moped before masked men rob him at …

A teenager was robbed at knifepoint after being knocked over by a moped in the centre of Hull.

A 17-year-old was walking along Ferensway onto Beverley Road where he was reportedly being followed by two men on a moped. Upon getting close to the Campanile Hotel, he alerted members of the public to the fact he was being followed.

The moped proceeded to ride into him, knocking the boy to the floor as he tried to flee. The riders then threatened him with a pocket knife, demanding he hand over his bracelet.

The pair were described as being around 18-years-old, white, with back helmets on. One was reportedly wearing a dark coloured tracksuit while the other a Berghaus coat and grey joggers.

The two fled the scene immediately after the incident at around 3.30pm on Thursday, 3 August. The victim is not seriously injured, but has been left shaken up. Humberside Police[2] are now asking anyone with information to come forward to help with the investigation.

Detective Constable Lauren Ireland leading the investigation said: “I am particularly keen to locate the members of the public who the teenager tried to alert just before the incident took place.

“Whilst the 17-year-old didn’t sustain any serious injuries, he has understandably been left shaken by the incident and we are continuing to follow up on lines of enquiries to identify those involved.

“I am appealing to anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident or anyone who has CCTV or dashcam footage that may assist with our enquires to please contact us on our non-emergency number 101 quoting log 375 of 3 August”.
