A man has been taken to hospital after being found with slash injuries in Abbey Wood.

The incident happened in Old Park Road at around 4.45pm today (August 24).

Officers and London Ambulance Service crews attended and found a man injured.

He was taken to a south London hospital where his injuries were assessed as non life-threatening.

Police enquiries are ongoing to establish how the man sustained his injuries.

No arrests have been made following the incident.

A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called by the London Ambulance Service at about 4.45pm on Thursday, 24 August to reports of a man found with slash injuries on Old Park Road, SE2.

“Officers attended. The man was taken to a south London hospital for treatment; his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

“Enquiries are ongoing to establish how the man came by his injuries.

“There are no reports of any firearms being involved, or shots fired.

“There have been no arrests.”

A spokesperson for London Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 4.38pm today (24 August) to an incident in Abbey Wood, SE2.

“We sent multiple resources to the scene, including an ambulance crew, a medic in a fast response car and members of our hazardous area response team (HART). We also dispatched London's Air Ambulance.

“We treated a person at the scene before conveying them to a major trauma centre as a priority."
