Four vehicles crash on northbound carriageway of M69 …

Four vehicles crashed on the M69 in Leicestershire on Friday afternoon, August 11. Emergency services were called to the incident, which happened just before junction 21 of the M1, at around 2.30pm.

One lane of the northbound carriageway was closed due to the pile-up involving a lorry a can and two cars. Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service[1] said it was requested to attend the incident by Leicestershire Police[2] at 2.38pm.

Crew members assisted occupants from their respective vehicles, but nobody was trapped or seriously injured, a spokesperson said. People involved in the collision were assessed at the scene by East Midlands Ambulance Service (Emas)[3].

Traffic monitoring website, Inrix, is reported "long delays" with queueing traffic for around three miles, while the incident was dealt with. The lane reopened at around 4.30pm leaving residual delays of up to 30 minutes.
