Glasgow bus driver fighting for life after van crash as two …
A bus driver is fighting for his life in hospital after a serious crash[1] involving a van on the A77 near Newton Mearns.
The single decker Stagecoach bus was travelling to Glasgow around 5.30pm on Monday when it was involved in a collision with a white Ford Transit.
The 23-year-old bus driver remains in a critical condition while the 42-year-old van driver is in a serious but stable condition. Both men had to be airlifted to hospital.
Two bus passengers - a 68-year-old woman and a 19-year-old man - were also taken to hospital by ambulance and later discharged.
The road was closed for ten hours while crash investigations were carried out.
Police are now appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash to come forward.
Inspector Craig Beaver said: “Our enquiries to establish the full circumstances are ongoing, and we are appealing to anyone who may have seen what happened to come forward.

“In addition, if you were driving in the area around the time of this crash and have dash-cam footage that could assist with our investigation, please get in touch.”
