Four-vehicle crash on the M1 at junction 8, Hemel Hempstead

Police confirmed they were called at around 2.23pm today following reports of the crash on the M1 at junction 8. No injuries were reported.

Two lanes, which are now clear, were blocked.

Herts police added they did not attend the scene, but it was manged by the National Highways.

One witness said they were coming off the A414 and M1 Northbound and it “looks like it’s coming to a standstill”.

Another added they saw and ambulance going to the scene.  

The East of England Ambulance Trust and the National Highways have been approached for comment.

The A41 between Hemel Hempstead and the M25 has now reopened following a six-vehicle crash yesterday (August 21).

Herts Highways was completing resurfacing work today on the southbound stretch near Kings Langley – with the northbound carriageway already open.

A county council spokesperson has confirmed the stretch has now reopened.
