Yate house fire: Fundraising page set up to support family with baby …

A fundraising page has been set up to support a family whose house was ravaged by a fire yesterday (July 7). Emergency services rushed to the blaze in Moordell Close, in Yate, at around 6.30am and three people were rushed to hospital.[1][2]

A neighbour of the home has now launched a GoFundMe page to help the family who reportedly have a baby due in just five weeks. They are asking people to "help in anyway possible".

The page says: "This morning our next door neighbours house caught on fire, distorted everything and they have a new baby due in 5 weeks. This family have always helped me and my mum they would do any thing for anyone and I want to help them.

"Please help in anyway possible. Sending love and hugs to you all."

The height of the blaze yesterday saw 14 Avon Fire and Rescue[4] Service firefighters at the scene. Crews were deployed from Yate, Kingswood[5], Temple, Southmead, and Bedminster[6].

A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance NHS[7] Foundation Trust (SWASFT) said: “We were called at 06.31hrs to an incident in the Yates area. We sent two double-crew land ambulances, a hazardous area response team and rapid response vehicle. Three individuals was conveyed by land ambulances to Southmead[8] Hospital.”
