Two teenagers in hospital after Mercedes crashes into garage

Two teenagers have been taken to hospital after a crash in a Derby suburb. Derbyshire police[1] were called to reports of a collision in Manor Road, Littleover, at just after 8pm on Sunday, July 30.

The collision involved a Mercedes A-Class which had collided with a garage at a property, causing significant damage. The incident provoked a large emergency service presence with two ambulances and a fire engine also attending the scene[2].

The driver of the Mercedes, a 19-year-old man, was taken to the Royal Derby Hospital. A passenger in the vehicle, who was also in his teens, was taken to hospital.

Their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening or life-changing[3]. A picture sent to Derbyshire Live shows the significant structural damage caused to the garage.

The picture has been released by the North Eastwood Road Safety Campaign group which is calling for road safety improvements in the area.

A spokesperson for Derbyshire police said: "Anyone who witnessed the collision, or has any information or dashcam footage, is asked to contact us quoting the reference 23000471537."
