Man rushed to hospital after A396 crash near Minehead

A man has been taken to hospital following a crash which has forced a road closure in Somerset this afternoon (July 13). Avon and Somerset Police said officers were called out to the incident on the A396 in Timberscombe, near Minehead[1], at around 1.30pm today.

The force[2] said a single car was involved in the crash. A statement from police said a man was rushed to hospital with injuries not thought to be life-threatening or changing.

A road closure[3] was set up as a result of the crash with the vehicle requiring recovery and debris needing clearing. Motorists have been advised to find alternative routes.

A police spokesperson said: "We were called to the A396 Timberscombe, near Minehead, at around 1.30pm today (Thursday, July 13) following a single car collision. One man has been taken to hospital by ambulance but his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening or life changing.

"The road has been closed while the vehicle is recovered and debris cleared."
