Man dies as lorry and car crash on Staffordshire road – updates

Motorists faced delays this morning after a crash saw the A515 shut. The busy route was closed in both directions following a collision between Common Lane and Wood End Lane in Bromley Hayes.

Traffic monitoring system Inrix reported it resulted in Wood End Lane, Common Lane, and Shaw Lane also being closed off. Meanwhile there was queuing traffic on the A38 in both directions in Streethay where there are road works.

But the congestion in that area is said to have been made worse by the closure of the A515. No details of the collision have yet been released.

An alert from Inrix, created at 7.15am states: "A515 in both directions closed, slow traffic due to accident between Common Lane and Wood End Lane. Wood End Lane, Shaw Lane and Common Lane are also closed."
