The crew will be ready and waiting with buckets and sponges to wash cars for a minimum donation of £5.

Money is being raised for both The Fire Fighters Charity and Alzheimer's Society.

This year’s charity car wash will be taking place at Morrisons, in Hawthorn Road, Wick, on Saturday, July 29, from 10am to 2pm, having been rearranged from May 20.

The annual event sees firefighters cleaning up scores of mucky motors to make them sparkling – and customers are usually more than happy to pay over the odds for the pleasure.
