Driver arrested after children escape dramatic A38 crash uninjured

A driver has been arrested after a car with two children inside left the road during a crash on the A38 in Whitminster. The single-vehicle collision, involving a black Hyundai Terracan, occurred on Sunday (July 16).

The car is reported to have left the road near Canal Roundabout at around 8.45pm. Gloucestershire Police said one person was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital for treatment, while two child passengers were uninjured.

A man in his 30s, from Dursley, was arrested on suspicion of being unfit to drive through alcohol or drugs in connection with the incident. He has since been released on bail pending further enquiries.

Gloucestershire Police is appealing to witnesses for information on the crash. Officers to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time and saw the incident, or who may have dashcam footage.
